Global Partnership Between Flextel SpA and AltiGen Brings Small and Medium Sized Businesses Increased Telecom Quality, Performance and Reliability
|
|
......
Fremont, CA - AltiGen Communications (NASDAQ: ATGN), the leading provider of next generation Telecom Servers
with advanced Voice over IP (VoIP) capability, and Flextel SpA, the breakthrough supplier
of fully redundant and scalable computer platforms, announced today a partnership to
deliver open standard and carrier class telecom quality, performance and reliability, for
LAN based PBX solutions.
|
|
......
The partnership provides a joint offering
focusing on small and medium sized businesses (SMBs), by combining AltiGen's AltiServ®
platform, a full-featured Windows NT® server-based PBX that is affordable, flexible and
highly scalable with Flextel's FTL800/1200 All-in-One platforms.
|
|
......
AltiGen's AltiServ®, in addition to providing
PBX functionality, delivers full IP feature support, corporate-strength voicemail, auto
attendant and automatic call distribution (ACD). AltiServ® also provides advanced
capabilities such as an integrated VoIP gateway, extensive "follow me" features,
client call control, Internet integration and unified messaging with support for
Microsoft® Exchange®.
|
|
......
By housing the AltiServ® system in Flextel's
FTL800/1200 platforms and capitalizing on its (patented) features, customers can receive
redundant, scalable and mission critical Windows NT platforms with an open architecture
combining Information Technology (IT) standard compatibility and telecom standard
compliance. Flextel's All-in-One platform features a Collapsed Networking Architecture
(CNA), which overcomes IT systems limitations when handling multimedia traffic. All system
elements are hot swappable and fully redundant. Flextel's fault tolerant architecture-
supporting up to six CPUs in a single chassis, with two being utilized for this
offering-may be configured so that in the event of a CPU failure, another CPU will
automatically take over, thus providing unsurpassed reliability.
|
|
......
The result of the joint AltiGen - Flextel
offering, is a phone system that provides SMBs with the carrier class quality and
reliability they need in order to survive in today's fast paced, technology focused
business climate. Customer shipments are targeted for the second quarter (Q2) of this
year.
|
|
......
"This is a logical progression for the
AltiServ® platform," says Anthony Spielman, Vice President, AltiGen. "Our
combined offerings are feature-rich, providing businesses with a communications system
which facilitates and enhances their success. The integrated AltiGen - Flextel platform
offers users a highly reliable, reasonably priced system that covers the highest demands
inherent to mission critical applications in the SMB market."
|
|
......
"This partnership brings to the market
advanced solutions for Windows NT based systems with a superior level of reliability,
performance and scalability," says Alessandro Dondolini, CEO of Flextel. "Our
All-in- One design allows SMBs to start with the right configuration and subsequent
optimization of installation, system design and additional functionality at an attractive
price level."
|
|
......
SMBs are increasingly conducting business over
the Internet, with E-commerce becoming a core part of their activities. Call center and
help desks, supporting numerous forms of multimedia, represent the heart of many SMBs, and
are considered truly mission critical. The AltiGen - Flextel integrated offering allows
SMBs to take advantage of the latest in Computer Telephony (CT) and Voice over IP (VoIP)
with the benefits of Windows NT. The combined AltiGen - Flextel system bridges the
convergence between circuit and packet switching at a competitive price and at performance
and reliability levels demanded by today's most mission critical applications.
