Nitsuko America to Private Label AltiGen Products
NT Server-Based Phone System Designed for Telecommuters, Mobile Workers, Branch Offices and Virtual Companies also Supports Option for Voice over IP Telephone Calls
FREMONT, Calif., February 23, 1999 -Nitsuko America Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of telecommunications systems, and AltiGen Communications, Inc., a leading provider of computer telephony (CT) solutions, today announced a Nitsuko-specific version of AltiGen's popular AltiServ system named the Nitsuko Communication Server (NCS). The new NCS will be distributed through Nitsuko's network of more than 300 dealers located throughout the US and Canada.
The Nitsuko America NCS will be available for distribution in the second quarter of 1999 and is targeted at companies requiring up to 100 users.
"We are delighted with Nitsuko America's decision to use AltiGen platform products as the basis for their new NCS system," said Michele Shannon, vice president of sales for AltiGen. "Our open architecture enables them to leverage powerful functionality that consistently wins in the marketplace and also add features that are important to their customers. Ongoing work in the U.S. and Japan to continually incorporate new features and technologies will further strengthen Nitsuko America's enviable growth record and move them to a leadership position in the small business CTI arena."
"Time-to-market is a key factor in the development of competitive products. Because of this, it is much more effective and often times critical to form strategic development projects with companies such as AltiGen that have solid technology and an established market leadership position," said Al Kelley, vice president of sales for Nitsuko America. "AltiGen is the clear leader in the rapidly growing telecom server market. This relationship allows us to build on AltiGen's already proven technology while providing uniqueness to meet the needs of our Dealer Channel through TAPI-based applications, VoIP and leveraging our advanced research and development work."
NCS Delivers The Goods for Users In The Office or On The Road
NCS integrates call processing, voice messaging functions and the internet to provide features like Callback and Call Out from Voice Mail. Callback enables voice mail users to have the system automatically place calls to people that left messages, and then return back to voice mail once each call is completed. Call Out from Voice Mail allows traveling workers to save time and money by placing outbound calls while checking messages from the road, then return back to voice mail--all within a single phone call. Traveling and remote employees can also use a simple browser-based Internet interface to change and update their extension configuration from the road. NCS offers flexible and powerful "follow-me" features for telecommuters and mobile workers and also supports an IP Telephony tie-line option by using AltiGen's Triton board and OEM version of AltiWare IP.
