AltiGen's Digital T1 Offering Expands Phone System Capacity and Lowers Phone Bills for Small and Mid-Sized Businesses
New AltiWare Open Edition (OE) R3.0 and Triton T1 PCI Board Offer an Unparalleled Flexible Voice T1 Solution
FREMONT, Calif., May 3, 1999 -- AltiGen Communications, Inc., a leading provider of computer telephony (CT) solutions, today announced the availability of digital T1 for its NT-based AltiServ telephone system. Designed specifically for businesses demanding T1 service, the AltiWare OE R3.0 phone system provides increased capacity to support AltiGen's new T1 board.
With this announcement, AltiGen is once again protecting the customer's investment by continuing to enhance the flexibility of AltiServ systems. By offering digital T1 voice service support, AltiGen customers are able to lower their monthly telephone service expenses as a result of T1 service being more cost effective than individual analog telephone lines. With the addition of T1, the capacity of the AltiServ has been increased to enable businesses with up to 160 users to take advantage of today's most advanced telecommunications system.
"Simplicity and tremendous cost savings were the compelling reasons for adding T1 to our AltiServ system," said Mick Galvin, president of Qantel Technologies, Inc. "We are now able to deal with one service provider for our voice and data T1 lines and save between $2,000-$3,000 each month on the bills as a result. It's a tremendous savings!"
More Value To Customers
Lowered monthly telephone service expenses is one of the key benefits customers will experience as a result of AltiGen's digital T1 voice services support. Other advantages include:
Increased Line Capacity: The capacity of the AltiServ system has been increased to enable businesses with up to 160 users to take advantage this new increased connectivity option.
High Voice Messaging Capacity Built-in: As a by-product of digital T1 support, AltiGen's AltiServ telephony system can offer business customers greater voicemail support at an affordable price. The heart of AltiGen' new Triton T1 PCI board uses the latest and most powerful DSP technology available, providing up to 24 channels for digital trunks, and an unprecedented 24 voicemail ports. This voicemail capacity comes at no charge where AltiGen's competition demands tens of thousands of dollars for the same capability.
Versatile Trunk Functionality: Each of the 24 digital channels has the flexibility to support either inbound, outbound, or DID trunks. AltiGen's Triton T1 trunks also deliver the functionality most often demanded by call center applications; calling party identification through ANI, DNIS, and Caller ID on a per channel basis. With this release of AltiWare also comes AltiConsole R3.0, an updated version of AltiGen's popular client application that gives AltiWare users the power of an operator console on their computer.
T1 PCI Card: The Triton board comes ready for PCI slots allowing more ISA slots for analog interfaces as well as taking advantage of PCI designs. This is one factor in achieving greater system capacity.
The Award-Winning AltiServ Platform
AltiGen's telecommunications server continues to integrate AltiServ's telephony capabilities with a Microsoft Windows NT server running an Intel processor. Applications include full- featured PBX, corporate-strength voice mail, extensive ``follow-me" features, call/voice processing, auto attendant, basic automatic call distribution (ACD), an e-mail server Internet-based extension configuration and remote system administration. AltiServ capabilities are managed through a single point of administration.
